Why I Built This App
I don't like getting blindsided by anything — especially when it comes to subscriptions, insurance, and similar costs. I hate checking my email and discovering an upcoming payment I forgot about. That's why I started tracking all my expenses in Notion one day. That was a huge improvement and made me far more aware of my finances. While I still love Notion, over time new features cluttered the app and distracted me from what I used it for. And while it's one of the most versatile tools out there, that also means it isn’t tailored for cost tracking. When I looked for an alternative on the App Store, I was shocked by how many cost tracking apps existed — yet each had a different flaw: cluttered with “smart” features, subscription-based, or just not visually appealing. I believe cost tracking has many purposes — but most importantly becoming aware of recurring costs and how much you spend over the long term. Paying a €3 monthly subscription for a cost tracker would ironically become one of those unnecessary costs. So I decided to build my own and offer an app for people who feel the same. ClutterFree Expenses is for people who value simplicity and focus. It's designed to do one thing — track your regular expenses beautifully and efficiently. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no hidden fees: just a single one-time purchase. There also won't be any features added that distract from the core purpose (no AI chat trying to “optimize your life”). No bloat, no distractions — just the essentials, done right.
